Bingxin (Chloe) Wang, Shanghainese grew up in LA. Architect and Photographer. Behold.

Under the influence of Japanese post-modern photographers, such as Masahisa Fukase, my work of art in different forms has become a way of self-expression through the process of self-identification and multicultural convergence. Reflection and threshold have been the continuously appearing concepts in my body of work, while dreams have been one of the main sources of inspiration. The conjunction and contradiction between the real and unreal have created a nonlinear timeline and narratives of the past and the future for me. By experimenting with different materials and ways of visual representations, the ideas of deconstruction, reconstruction and juxtaposition have been embedded throughout. Being bilingual and bicultural, making art is a process for me to communicate with myself with such instinct and subconsciousness.

With my experiences of making art, it’s my desire to express my individual aestheticism through visual narrations. Working with others will be able to create a dynamic echo of cultural trends is what I envision.
